CoSchedule vs Hootsuite

This is the comparison most people search for, and the two tools are built for different jobs.

CoSchedule started as a marketing calendar. Its social scheduler is solid: a drag-and-drop calendar, unlimited scheduling, analytics and ReQueue, which automatically re-shares your best evergreen posts to fill gaps. The plans:

  • Starter, $29 a month billed yearly ($39 monthly): 1 user and 3 social profiles. Extra profiles cost $5 a month each, and X (Twitter) is billed separately.
  • Professional, $49 a month yearly ($59 monthly): 2 users and 5 profiles, plus an advanced inbox for 9 networks, approvals, profile groups and white-label tools for agencies. Extra seats are $29 a month.
  • Suite, from $69 a month: unlimited users and profiles, plus content and campaign planning, permissions and single sign-on (SSO).

Hootsuite is a full social media suite. Every plan includes unlimited scheduled posts, an AI writer, a unified inbox and brand monitoring. Its higher plans add trend forecasting, inbox automation, approvals and team reporting. You pay for that range: Standard starts at $99 per user a month (billed yearly) with 10 social accounts, Professional is $199, and Advanced goes up to $399 per user a month.

Choose CoSchedule if you are one or two marketers who mainly need a calendar and a reliable scheduler, and you also plan blog or email content.

Choose Hootsuite if you need social listening, competitor monitoring and a shared inbox for a larger team, and the per-user price fits your budget.

CoSchedule vs Loomly

Loomly's Starter plan is $49 a month billed yearly ($65 monthly), and it includes 3 users and 12 social accounts. That is far more room than CoSchedule Starter, which has 1 user and 3 profiles.

Loomly is built around approval workflows. You can set roles, send posts for review and collect feedback from clients or managers before anything goes live, and all of this is on the entry plan. Loomly also helps with post ideas and previews. Its Beyond plan ($249 a month yearly) adds unlimited users, 60 accounts, custom branding and custom workflows.

CoSchedule pulls ahead on calendar depth: ReQueue, a marketing calendar for non-social work and, on Suite, campaign planning.

Choose Loomly if you are a small agency or in-house team where every post needs sign-off. Choose CoSchedule if recycling evergreen content and planning across channels matter more than approvals.

CoSchedule vs Agorapulse

Agorapulse is priced per user: Standard is $79 a month billed yearly ($99 monthly), with 10 social profiles. Professional ($119 yearly) and Advanced ($149 yearly) add approvals, shared calendars, bulk scheduling of up to 200 posts by CSV, competitor benchmarking and ROI reports.

Its real strength is the inbox. Comments, mentions, DMs and ad comments from every network land in one place, with assignments, saved replies and automated moderation rules. If your team spends more time replying than publishing, that matters more than any calendar feature.

There is a 30-day free trial, and after it you can stay on a free plan.

Choose Agorapulse if community management is a daily job and you need inbox reporting. Choose CoSchedule if you are mostly publishing and planning, and a lighter inbox is enough.

What does each tool cost for a real team?

List prices are hard to compare because some tools charge per user and others per plan. Here is a rough monthly cost, billed yearly, for a team of 3 people managing 10 social profiles:

ToolPlan neededApprox. monthly cost
CoScheduleProfessional (2 seats + 1 extra, 5 profiles + 5 extra)~$103
HootsuiteStandard × 3 users~$297
LoomlyStarter (3 users, 12 accounts)$49
AgorapulseStandard × 3 users~$237
FoxliTeam plan, 10 channels, unlimited seats~₹950 (about $12)

These are estimates from public list prices. Discounts, taxes and add-ons will change the final number. Hootsuite's Standard plan may also limit some team features, so check it before you buy for a team.

A note on bias: I build Foxli, so I have kept the sections on the other four tools factual and linked every vendor's pricing page so you can check the numbers yourself. Pushpendra Singh Rathor, founder of Foxli

A cheaper option for small teams and Indian businesses: Foxli

All four tools above are priced in US dollars for Western teams. If you are a creator, small business or agency in India, the bill adds up quickly.

Foxli takes a different approach: you pay per channel, not per user.

  • Free plan: 3 social accounts and 10 posts per channel each month.
  • Creator plan: ₹99 (about $1.20) per channel a month.
  • Team & Agency plan: ₹119 (about $1.45) per channel a month, with unlimited seats, client approval links and role-based permissions.
  • Platforms: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Threads and Pinterest, all from one composer.
  • AutoDM: sends a DM with your link when someone comments a keyword on your Instagram or Facebook post or Reel. It is included on the Free plan; Free-plan DMs carry Foxli branding.

To be fair about the gaps: Foxli does not offer social listening, competitor benchmarking or a full unified inbox like Hootsuite and Agorapulse. If those are must-haves, one of the bigger tools is the better fit.

Which one should you choose?

  • Solo marketer, calendar-first: CoSchedule Starter.
  • Small agency that needs client approvals: Loomly Starter.
  • Team with a heavy comment and DM load: Agorapulse.
  • Larger team that needs listening and monitoring: Hootsuite.
  • Creators, small teams and agencies on a tight budget, especially in India: Foxli, from ₹99 per channel. See pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Is CoSchedule cheaper than Hootsuite?

Yes. As of 18 October 2026, CoSchedule's Starter plan costs $29 a month billed yearly for one user and three social profiles, while Hootsuite's Standard plan starts at $99 per user a month billed yearly. Hootsuite includes more profiles (10) and stronger listening and inbox features, so the gap narrows for larger teams.

What is the main difference between CoSchedule and Loomly?

CoSchedule is built around a marketing calendar, with ReQueue to recycle evergreen posts and, on its Suite plan, project and campaign planning. Loomly is built around approvals: even its Starter plan includes 3 users, 12 social accounts and approval workflows, which suits small agencies that need client sign-off.

Is Agorapulse better than CoSchedule?

Agorapulse is better if you manage a busy social inbox, because its unified inbox, moderation rules and reports are the core of the product. CoSchedule is better if your priority is planning a content calendar across blog, email and social. Agorapulse is priced per user from $79 a month billed yearly.

Does CoSchedule have a free plan?

Yes. CoSchedule's free plan lets you schedule up to 15 posts at a time on one social profile. It is useful for trying the calendar, but most teams outgrow it quickly.

What is the cheapest alternative to CoSchedule, Hootsuite, Loomly and Agorapulse?

For small teams, creators and agencies in India, Foxli is the cheapest option in this comparison: paid plans are priced per channel, from ₹99 (about $1.20) per channel a month, and the Team plan includes unlimited seats. Foxli covers scheduling and AutoDM, but it does not offer social listening or a full unified inbox like Hootsuite and Agorapulse.
